Edumacation

Max is growing up fast and I am looking at what what he needs at this stage in his life. He is doing well learning his alphabet, but looking at some of the resources out there it looks like I might want to approach reading from a different angle. Why learn the names of the letters? What is more useful is learning the sounds those letters make. I've seen several interesting apps and videos teaching the sounds, but I have a complaint there. Most don't cover the issue that some letters have different sounds like a in mat and mate or the two sounds of the o's in robot.
